<p>A work colleague gave this Hyacinth to Mr. G, honey for his birthday. It&#8217;s never been on my list of things to give the man, because I have environmental sensitivities to <em>Hyacinthus orientalis</em> &#8212; aka allergies &#8212; and have never had them in my spring garden, much less the dining room. Well, they&#8217;re in the dining room now. And I am not.</p>
<p>Okay. I admit it. I&#8217;ve dashed into the dining room everyday to snap pictures of this bulb-in-a-pot for the blog. The sacrifices I make for you. See Elen laughing.</p>
<div id="attachment_3786" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 324px"><a rel="attachment wp-att-3786" href="http://elengrey.com/archives/3784/hyacinth-jan-30-2010"><img class="size-full wp-image-3786" title="Hyacinth Jan 30 2010" src="http://elengrey.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/Hyacinth-Jan-30-2010.jpg" alt="" width="314" height="235" /></a><p class="wp-caption-text">Premature Spring - January 30, 2010</p></div>
<p>It&#8217;s getting a bit of color now. And scent. It&#8217;s getting scent. Quick. Click. Run.</p>
<div id="attachment_3787" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 324px"><a rel="attachment wp-att-3787" href="http://elengrey.com/archives/3784/hyacinth-jan-31-2010"><img class="size-full wp-image-3787" title="Hyacinth Jan 31 2010" src="http://elengrey.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/Hyacinth-Jan-31-2010.jpg" alt="" width="314" height="235" /></a><p class="wp-caption-text">Premature Spring - January 31, 2010</p></div>
<p>Not only is it getting more color, more scent, but the color of my dining room wall is changing. How did that happen?</p>
<div id="attachment_3788" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 245px"><a rel="attachment wp-att-3788" href="http://elengrey.com/archives/3784/hyacinth-feb-1-2010"><img class="size-full wp-image-3788" title="Hyacinth Feb 1 2010" src="http://elengrey.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/Hyacinth-Feb-1-2010.jpg" alt="" width="235" height="314" /></a><p class="wp-caption-text">Premature Spring - February 1, 2010</p></div>
<p>We&#8217;ve hit February, and this baby is sporting some major florets. My eyes are watering and my nose is plugging while I take this pic, but I&#8217;m doing it for you. Greater love hath no blogger.</p>
<div id="attachment_3789" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 245px"><a rel="attachment wp-att-3789" href="http://elengrey.com/archives/3784/hyacinth-feb-3-2010"><img class="size-full wp-image-3789" title="Hyacinth Feb 3 2010" src="http://elengrey.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/Hyacinth-Feb-3-2010.jpg" alt="" width="235" height="314" /></a><p class="wp-caption-text">Premature Spring - February 3, 2004</p></div>
<p>Whoa!</p>
<p>My work here is done, and I can never walk in the dining room again. I&#8217;ll be trapped in my office over the garage. That might be a good thing. I&#8217;ll be eating in the upstairs den until the ground thaws. This is Canadaland. It could be awhile.</p>
<p>Thank you work colleague of Mr. G, honey. I&#8217;m tearing-up over its gorgeousness. Really.</p>
<p><em>Hyacinthus orientalis </em>is so showy and beautiful, I&#8217;d have it all over the garden&#8230; if I didn&#8217;t have environmental sensitivities.</p>
<p>Premature spring, baby!</p>
