Close Shot Friday 044

Signage is part of the New England experience.

And since I love signage, I’m okay with that.

This particular post stands outside the tourist information center in Montpelier, Vermont across from the capitol building.

Montpelier is the smallest state capital in the United States, with a population hovering around 8,000.

We were headed up I-89 to Burlington, Vermont, the last night of our New England roadmance before we hit the Quebec border.

Trees. Trees. And more trees.

Burlington is where we tried to drink the remainder of our Maine microbrew before crossing the border.

It was a failed attempt.

TGIF, baby. You know what to do. Meet you in the bar in 3…2…1…

  1. Great photo! And I like the idea of a state capital with a population of 8,000. I like the idea of a state with that population even better . . .

I’m feeling curmudgeonly these days. “The world is too much with us. Late and soon, / Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers.”
