Humpity Day: There’s Just Something About…

…a matinee, a stroll, and a gelato.

We used to live down the road from the Shaw Festival in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

It was a blessing and a curse.

Curse

Have I told you how much I love live theatre?

Blessing

Rush seats.

Last week, on a typically gorgeous, N-O-T-L day, we motored around the lake for a day of walking and noshing and theatre.

It might’ve been over the river and through the woods in my imagination.

But we motored.

To see…

Shaw Festival Playbill 2015

I have not been entertained so well in a very long time.

It was fast, funny, frenetic.

Wild, readers. Wild!

I loved the modern references and the bare-bones set.

PATS was performed storytelling-style.

The actors were and did all.

Stamina.

They had it.

I was charmed.

I wanted to be a pirate, a mermaid, a clam, an orphan… a girl.

Here’s the behind-the-scenes look…

On stage at the Royal George Theatre from April 8 – November 1.

Black Stache…

Help me, Rhonda.

I’m thinking I might go again.

Just as soon as I learn Norse Code.

A stellar performance by a stellar cast.

Yes. I used stellar twice on purpose.

You can follow Shaw Theatre on Twitter here for the latest Shaw news.

Here be Humpity Day.

Let’s just imagine ourselves right over it.

  1. I love NOTL. I used to take wine tours there all the time. We watched a production at a vineyard once and sat on the grass and ate cheese n crackers and drank wine. It was a fine time indeed. I miss those days when I got paid to talk about wine.
