Let’s talk theme songs for television series.

We loves ’em.

The end.

Not really.

We don’t have cable television in our home. We pull in several channels through some digital rabbit ears, aluminum foil, a bulb of garlic, and some duct tape. Otherwise, we’re busy netflixing.

And verbizing nouns.

I’m okay with that because Netflix has introduced me to such programs as Borgen and Occupied. Who knew subtitles could be so much fun?

Both are just good, solid drama with talented actors I have not been exposed to before.

Borgen is a Danish political drama and Occupied is a Norwegian geopolitical thriller.

Have you seen either? Both?

W.G. Snuffy Walden has created some of my favorite television series theme songs and soundtracks. He is a brilliant musician and composer in the field of film and television soundtracks period.

Thirty Something (1987-1991), The West Wing (1999-2006), Friday Night Lights (2006-2011), just to name three of my all time faves and the tip of the iceberg that is the work of W.G. Snuffy Walden.

And then there is the total earworm that is the theme song for Suits (2011-). It’s in my head all the time now. We didn’t discover Suits until recently. Gotta love netflixing.

  2. Ha! I’d forgotten all about “Thirty Something”. I enjoyed the show – back in the day. I agree with you about “Suits” – fabulous theme song! Thanks for the tips on some new shows. I’m gonna check em out!

  3. I happen to Love love song from Reign called Scotland by the Lumimeers
    BTW any songs from shows that catch your fancy you can look up on Tunefind.com once you get into Suits they have this amaze-balls song by Leon Bridges. Oh and the Sons of Anarchy soundtrack is a hit in my books. One of my all time faves is Boots of Spanish Leather by Amos Lee and the Forest Rangers
