It is. Had a week of chemo the week before Christmas for some rare lymphoma called ‘hairy cell leukemia’ but it’s a lymphoma. Hell, I can’t grow hair on my head but I can on my white blood cells. The good news is that it’s very treatable. A week of chemo, blood checks twice a week and a couple of daily pills for 6 months and I’m good for another ten years. If it returns, then I do the same regiment and good for another ten. Then, I’ll ‘go where no man has gone before’, at least in my family. Since. Help, my blood counts are up significantly and I don’t need transfusions. Oddly, I don’t feel any different or have any less energy than before and I climbed 6 flights yesterday. I think I’ve even gotten more handsome…
Isn’t that always the way? Hair never grows where you want it and everywhere you don’t! Well, I think the only side effect of cancer worth talking about is more handsome or more beautiful! Cheers and take your medicine!!
Happy New Year, Elen!
