Sweet Alyssum!
I have a thang for ground covers. They ground me.
Snort!
There are some thymes and Vinca minor in the frontscape, along with some hen & chicks and two patches of this white sweet alyssum. And I’m thinking about adding some Vinca major in the back garden as an undead bunny deterrent. They ate the three pink fairy rose bushes I planted there last year after the new fence was put in. The Vinca major can run wild with the sweet woodruff and woodland and common violets.
It has come to my attention that the sweet alyssum and the sweet woodruff are the only white specimens I have in my garden.
Isn’t that sweet?
Here be Friday, splish-splashin’ right into the weekend.
Cone Girl gets her stitches out this afternoon. Yass!
You know what to do. Meet you in the bar in 3…2…1…

Well then. I can’t say that I’ve ever looked at alyssum up close and personal-like. Every spring my mom planted, without fail, alternating white and red petunias bordered by alyssum. Once I was old enough, the job fell to me, but I can’t say that I paid attention to the posies.
Stay afloat this weekend.

Hey, Maggie. We didn’t get more than a few standing puddles. Luck out. New Brunswick, Quebec… not so much.

Good to hear. Friends in Minden are sandbagging it again – the third time in 5 years. We (you and I) are lucky.

Our purple dragon is slowly turning purple again. Lots of rain this week so it all should wake up now!

Okay. I had to Google Purple Dragon, Eric. The first hits were all links to marijuana strains. I am laughing so hard right now. Then I found what I’m sure you were referring to. Beaut! 😀

Ground cover is always a good idea. Keeps the weeds away, and adds colours or sparkle to the garden. And grounds you, as you say. :-9
