We’re Having a Real Winter, Soup, and Sock Dreams…

Winter Scene

We’re having a real winter in my neck of the woods. Snow. Cold. More snow. More cold. Shovel. Shovel. Shovel. It’s probably really good for the water table and………sock manufacturers. I’m having to double-up.

This isn’t a hardship for me. You see, after shoes, I’m a girl gone wild for socks. Footie, knee, over the knee; bootsocks, slouch socks; solid, striped, argyle.

Socks

What better place for socks than the Frozen North. Good thing I live here, huh? And, a great place to get socks – Sock Dreams. It’s a favorite link at my website. Big, thick man socks are the order of the day. Oops. I think I just confessed a little sin there. Sorry, Mr. G, honey.

We still have viral and bacterial invaders. It sounds like a bullfrog croak-off. I’ve cornered the market on Popsicles, so you can forget getting any.

The soup pot got pulled out today, and a vat of chicken soup is simmering as I write. It’s a matter of survival. If I’m felled by the creeping grunge……well, I want to be prepared. Mr. G makes a mean grilled fish or shrimp, but he’s no soup master. To his credit, he’s very, very good at picking-up takeout won ton soup. I find this just as good a remedy, that is if you can get the won ton, which means swallowing a cloud, passed your swollen tonsils. No tonsils? Well, probably no problem. So, are you chicken soup or swallowing a cloud soup?

For all you writers out there, I’m sending you over to Alison Kent’s Blah Blog today. She has an author interview video you won’t want to miss. Thanks for the chuckle, Alison.

  1. We’re having the most real winter we’ve had in a few years down here in Michigan, complete with snow days and impossible-looking car accidents. I guess we haven’t lost the war on global climate change yet 😉

  2. Ah, I hear ya Ladies and Gents… It was a burrrrr-ing 43F degrees this morning, and will only be a high of 70F today. Don’t worry I will keep my argyles on today, no flip flops for me!!!

  3. Hey Bubbles – Drop that 43F down 10 degrees, and we call that BBQ weather! 😉 I love flip flops! That’s when you get to showcase those bare feet in your fav OPI colors and ankle chains. Unfortunately, we have a very short f-f season. lol

  4. Oh yeah. Toe rings! Mmmm. Pistol Packin’ Pink is yum. Right now, I’m leaning towards the Burgundy reds. I used Got The Blues For Red in my Harley story, but not without trying it first, of course! Double yum!
