New Shoes

You’ve probably guessed by now that two huge influences in my day-to-day are music and shoes. Well, today they’re coming together. I can’t stop thinking about shoes — must be the whiff of spring in the air — and I can’t stop listening to this song by Paolo Nutini. Yes. It’s called New Shoes. Go. Sneakers 1Most of the year, I’m in boots — laced, zippered, heeled, rubber, leather, garden, work, hiking, short, tall. Anything you can wear a sock with. You name ’em…..I’m in ’em. Alternately, I’m in some trainer, sneaker, runner thingies at the gym. Sexy it ain’t.

Red Dot MulesAbout this time — peri-spring — I’m ready for that professional pedicure, instead of the winter-do-at-home, and some new foot gear that sings – mama’s got a new pair of shoes!

The criteria is simple. They have to show off the bare-naked ladies like this —

Yeah. I put that picture in just for the guys! Plus, I really, really like those high-heeled shoes.

Okay. These aren’t ruby, but if I clicked my heels together three times and said,Gold Shoes “There’s no place like Bora Bora…there’s no place like Bora Bora,” I could be there. Right now.

What shoe makes you sigh, or whimper? Guys — you can jump right in here, too. Talk about your girlfriend…your lady…your own foot gear. Elen wants to know.

And, Paolo, honey — New Shoes — we bought it, and then we put on some……..well, new shoes.

  1. I am truly Barefoot Girl but you, JoAnn Ross and Jennifer Crusie have all converted me to the joy of wonderful shoes. They’re fun. They’re flirty and man can a great pair of heels make you feel sexy.

  3. Okay, Elen, I’m going for the gold–gold shoes, that is 😉 Love those sassy peep toes. Which reminds me, I must trot out the black patent leather peep toes since spring is here. A girl can never have too many pairs of shoes. Think how much our toes would blush at being bare in public if they weren’t wearing a gorgeous, flirty, or fun design in leather or suede? Great post, girlfriend! I’m ready to click my heels and head somewhere tropical. Think the March winds might take me there if I make a wish?
