Late July. Not your average store bought cookie. Nope. Not. No way. No how.
I can’t believe I’m sitting here eating my hamster buds All-Bran with psyllium — gack! — and strawberries, blueberries and banana writing about the best store bought chocolate cookie ever. Those SparkPeople have changed my breakfast-eatin’-ways.
Actually, I’m not sure I’ve ever eaten cookies for breakfast. Ever. I’ve eaten Pop Tarts. I’ve eaten cold pizza and leftover shrimp. Sometimes, I’ve eaten leftover casserole. The microwave — it is a beautiful thing.

Dinner is not just for dinner anymore.
When I was with child, pregnant, preggers… I ate coffee grounds out of the can, so throwing back a few chocolate M&Ms, or eating a hot fudge sundae, or sucking on a lemon for breakfast wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility. Just sayin’. Please don’t rat me out with the Goddess of Preggers. It’s too late anyway. Thank you.
On the last week of my vacation, I discovered these. Yeah. Right there on the right. Late July organic, dark chocolate, sandwich cookies. I confess that I grabbed the box off the shelf not because it said organic, but because it said — dark chocolate… intense and decadent. Four little words to eat by.
Like Joe Morelli from a Stephanie Plum novel, who needs a cookie jar? I ate the whole box. It only took two days. Hey! I can do disciplined. I considered eating them all in one sitting, but I didn’t want a little organic stomachache, not to mention a pimple the size of New Jersey sprouting on my face.
This sandwich cookie was the best store bought cookie I’ve ever tasted. The chocolate was dark. The flavor was intense. It wasn’t sweet, like most boxed cookies. I couldn’t eat just one.
It’s Sunday morning. We’re moving ever closer to Hello Monday. Just wanted to share.
I’m feeling a little light-headed just thinking about Late July’s cookie goodness, but the box is empty. Maybe a cold shower…
Hmmm, that was interesting. Looks like somethings will always remain mystery.
I myself has been trying to solve the mystery of the legend that forces you to have “earn it before
having it”, for a wile now. Could not understand much though.
Let me know in case you get to understand the mystery of the Old Hound and the Legend
By the way, good writing style. I’d love to read more on similar topics

Poonam – Thank you for your kind words. I confess, I read the legend but did not understand it either. Good luck with that. π
