Single Shot Sunday: Grille…

On Thursday, we went to BUSKERFest in support of Epilepsy Toronto, sponsored by Scotiabank.

From Thursday, August 23 – Sunday, August 26, three blocks of the St. Lawrence Market neighborhood are closed to all but pedestrian traffic so that gazillions of people — me, too — can enjoy street performers, aka buskers, and partake of a variety of street foods. Yum. Yum.

I had some delicious mint iced tea from The Sultan’s Tent & Café Moroc.

You make a donation of $$$ at a street entrance and get a purple Epilepsy Toronto sticker for your shirt/dress/jean/short/face/calf/whatever from an enthusiastic, purple-shirted volunteer. FYI, some of them walk the fest with purple finger fans. I should have bought one.

We spent about four hours strolling in the hot sun — thankful for the breeze — and enjoying the day’s entertainments. While your donation to enter goes to support Epilepsy Toronto, you still need some cash on hand for the performers. Buskers make their living this way.

This was our second annual, and I can’t wait for next summer to roll around.

Here’s an iPhone click I took and posted to Instagram.

Yes, I love trucks.

Cheers!

P.S. You can get a purple sticker, too, if you hurry. BUSKERFest is on until 8 p.m. Sunday.
