Soldier’s Angels 2011 Valour-IT Fundraiser starts today, July 1 and runs through July 14.

Today — and periodically over the next two weeks — I’m going to be talking about this very special SA project.

A project near and dear to my heart, this is the third year I’ve blogged this campaign on behalf of Soldiers’ Angels and Team Air Force. Mr. G, honey… well, he was Air Force. My path is clear.

Project Valour-IT provides voice-controlled/adaptive laptop computers and other technology to support Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines recovering from hand wounds and other severe injuries. Items supplied include: Voice-controlled Laptops, Wii Video Game Systems, and Personal GPS

You can read more here. Please do.

During this annual fundraiser, the different branches of the military engage in a bit of friendly competition to see who can raise the most funds for Valour-IT. I love a little friendly competition. Yes, I do.

FYI ~ All funds received go directly to our wounded troops; 100% of your donation to Project Valour-IT will be used to purchase laptops and other technology that will support recovery and provide independence and freedom to wounded Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines. Soldiers’ Angels has been designated a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity by the IRS.

That one thing–when everything: feeding, cleaning, scratching, everything had to be done for me–that one thing I could do for myself allowed me to connect to my soldiers, friends, and family. That one thing… that one thing began a long road to recovery.  It gave me hope; that I could learn to do other things like I did before... (read more)
