The results are in for the Soldiers’ Angels Valour-IT Campaign. These are the final numbers…until we get the final numbers. There may be some auction numbers and last minute donations coming in later, but this is it.
Our goal was $60,000. I am delighted to say that we exceeded that goal. Sprinted right by it. Yes, we did. We raised, and by that I mean YOU, $92,542. Here’s how it looks team by competing team. Not that it matters, because all funds go to assist wounded across all branches of the military. The competition is the fun factor.
That’s 115 voice-activated laptops for wounded warriors. Of course, we’re talking laptops, Wii video game systems, personal GPS, and iPads. That’s a lot of assistive technology.

I want to take this opportunity to say thank you. Thank You! to my readership for letting me interrupt the regularly scheduled blogging to talk about a project that I am passionate about. Thank You! to everyone who clicked the Give now! button for Team Air Force that sat in the sidebar for the duration of the campaign. Thank You! to all who donated by mail or clicked for Team Army, Team Navy and the unbeatable Team Marines, who were out in front again this year. I can’t even whisper their total. You’ll just have to look at the graph. Pretty terrific, huh?
I’m not a member of the illustrious mil-blogging community. That’s not what this blog is about. But I am a volunteer angel with Soldiers’ Angels, and this is just one of the many projects under their non-profit umbrella.
I support Adopt-a-Soldier, which gives individualized support to our men and women of the military throughout their deployments. Today, there are 1,384 soldiers awaiting adoption. Check it out.
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
