I know. I’ve been MIA. I apologize. The plague is upon our house and Elen the Writer has left the building to be replaced by Elen the Badger. Ms. Badger says:

“Did you take your temp? No? Do it now.”

“Did you drink your juice/Perrier/water? No? Do it now.”

“Did you take your Tylenol/antibiotic? No? Do it now.”

“Did you eat your soup? No? Do it now.”

“Did you brush your teeth? Gargle some mouthwash? No? Please! Do it now.”

“You should sit up now.”

“You should sleep now.”

“You should get off the computer….NOW!”

“Um. You should shower. Yesterday.”

There is something viral and bacterial running through our house, and it’s ugly. Elen’s Ward of Horrors is open for business. Popsicles and liquids are on the menu. Bendy straws available upon request!

Today, we’re starting Rest & Rec Fridays. Friday posts will be all about leisure. Ease. Freedom. The Weekend. What we’re doing. What we’re planning to do. What we wish we could do. For instance, I’ve always wanted to learn how to play pool. I’m just not sure how to go about it. Is there a School of Pool? A Pool Boot Camp? Do I need a tattoo? I only ask, because it’d be the excuse I’m looking for to get something small and tasteful. (A fantasy of mine I could really get into, except for that little niggling worry about blood poisoning.) How many cals does it burn? Is there a dress code?

This weekend, it looks like I’ll still be staffing Elen’s Ward of Horrors. But, I can dream about next Friday. Oh yeah. So, what about you? Got any great Friday night plans? Is it date night? Are you just kickin’ back? Concert? Book? Workout? Sports?
