Shake, Rattle and Creak…

This is a blog quickie. I’m putting the last spit & polish on a book proposal. Yay! Here’s something for you to play with. I’ve been playing with this for a couple of months now.

Yeah. Shake, rattle & creak is exactly what I woke up to in the wee smalls. Never mind the trees, that was my house! It’s a double socks AND hoodie day. It’s not really that cold, but we’ve got some badass gusting winds out there, and all I can think about is hot, white sand and little drinks with umbrellas. Ovaltine just isn’t cutting it. -7c/19F… Folks from Montana or Alberta are laughing themselves silly about now, I’m sure. We’re in a wind warning, as in step away from that glass high rise; a blowing snow warning, as in put down that cell phone and git your eyes on the road. I’m not feeling the love from Mama Nature.

Break’s over.

  1. I’ve never felt the inside walls of the house shake before. It’s not the cold that’s so disturbing, it’s the wind. It’s kinda creepy. We’re not used to constant battering at our fortresses. I also realized at 4am that I don’t have a very good tornado plan. That is in the process of being rectified – despite the fact that the Niagara Region is not exactly known for its Tornado Alley. Stay safe, warm and dry. And save room on the beach for me, please
