It snowed all day Friday. Thirteen inches fell in our neighborhood. That’s what I measured on top of the compost bin this morning. Schools closed at noon. Buses stopped running in the morning. Snowblowers ran all day. Snowplows ran all night. Kids ran all over the land — building snow tunnels. Our Golden Retriever, Gracie Allen, ran in circles — with gusto. It was a helluva way to greet February. This is a beloved Blue Spruce on our property.

And then on Saturday it rained. Melted several inches, then snowed some more. My niece and I took our friend’s Golden puppy for a run with our Aussie/Border Collie. We had a blast and I’m so sorry I left the camera at home. The snow covered branches on the trees and bushes along the Welland Canal were beautiful.
