We needed to update our wireless router. You know, so we could get reception from every corner of our home — like it’s bigger than a breadbox anyway. So, early yesterday morning the big Staples Truck pulled up and the big Staples Guy got out and brought the big Staples Box to my door. Even Gracie Allen stuck the big Golden Nose out to check the neighborhood business. It was a Big day on our street.
Let me tell you, the internet was loading seriously s l o w . The new wireless router was going to change that. I was tippy-toe excited.
Same day, that evening…
…Open the box, put sticky feet on the vertical holder, plug everything in, adjust antennae, then follow directions: 1. insert CD 2. install Router 3. setup your Network 4. get Connected. 5. skip steps 1-4 and plug in your Internet cable. Presto. Highspeed Internet.
See Elen Still Laughing.
The new router was supposed to work with my current NIC — network interface card. It doesn’t. Well it does, but not optimally. It won’t function WPA — Wi-Fi Protected Access. Installing on LINUX — not exactly point and click.Thank goodness for my Tech Baby. She rocks.
Gracie Allen and I are back to waiting for the big Staples Truck. New NICs. Good. More action on our street.
