Write, Baby, Write…

NaNoWriMo — It’s National Novel Writing Month. Make that INTERnational Novel Writing Month. Writers all over the globe are doing it. If you’re participating, like my blog bud — Mr. Fictional Discipline, himself — you’re going to be writing a 50k novel in 30 days. Woot! Woot! Hey, as of 2:00 a.m. this morning, a lot of you just got a one hour bonus.

If NaNoWriMo doesn’t fit your writing needs, swing on over to the The Seventy Days of Sweat Writing Challenge, aka Sweating with Sven, which begins on November 10th. 70 Days is now on Round Four. Sven is giving you 70 77 days to write a novel of 60 to 100K, ending on January 26th. It’s the Christmas Factor.

I particpated in Round Two, probably motivated by the hotness of Sven. Hey. Hey. Hey. Whatever it takes. And there is no doubt about it, Sven is hawt. I’m fence-sitting Sven at the moment. Undecided, just like a whole bunch of voters getting ready for November 4th.

I have a few more days to decide. It’s a serious challenge, and I take it seriously. If I participate, I expect to win. What am I winning? 60 to 100K. Enough said.

This is for the stanmanx — Write, Baby, Write!

  1. I’m writing!

Well, ok, right now I’m adding music to the trusty mp3 player for the writein tonight… and then I’m going to rock the treadmill (test out the new music on the mp3 player)… and then I’m going to write!

  2. I’m doing neither this year. I just can’t add another pressure to pre-Christmas insanity. Maybe I’d be better motivated if I had a better handle on where my new story is headed. I’m going to do a lot of pre-writing this month so that I can spend January(yes I know I just skipped an entire month completely) writing a first draft.

  3. Roger that, Miss Keziah. For my money, December is the shortest month of the year! 😀

CBAB is cheering on your pre-writing this month. Move ’em on, head ’em up, rawhide!

  4. Yes, I am. Both. In fact, I was the one that got Mr. Discipline there to do NaNo, because I signed up first.

If all goes well, I’m going to write one novel for NaNo, and then jump tracks and work on one I started earlier this year (and got a whopping 3 pages into!) for Sven. If it all goes to pieces, I hope to have at least one of them finished…particularly the one that has been whispering sweet nothings in my ear for five years now. 🙂
