Canadaland finished with Thanksgiving back in October — before Halloween. I looked out onto the street last night and there were Christmas lights up everywhere. Not just up, but on!
It is dark.
But American Thanksgiving is just around the corner.
So I leave you with two more fall images.

Leaves on Mantel
Those are paper leaves I found in a paper store… go figure. I love them. I have loved them for four years. And the little jewel-toned vases are from IKEA. The mantel is mine.

Sunflowers on Sideboard
I’m freakishly in love with helianthus annuus. Go ahead. Say that real fast. Ten times. Bet you can’t. It’s the large heads. I’ve always been attracted to fat large heads. These are on the oak sideboard. You’re seeing a piece of a framed Shaw Festival poster behind it. After I took this picture, I whacked the stems on those sunflowers within an inch of their lives. Don’t ask me why I didn’t take another picture then. That’s how I roll.
That’s it. That’s your last glimpse of fall here at the old blog.
Because.
Because, after American Thanksgiving.
After American Thanksgiving.
Christmas is…
…just around the corner.
