One of my favorite classic films is Desk Set, a Spencer Tracy/Katharine Hepburn vehicle (1957). Mike Cutler (Gig Young) is leaving the Research Department. As he passes the female researchers, he says: Remember our motto. Be on time. Do your work. Be down in the bar at 5:30.
This is why I sign-off on Fridays with: You know what to do. Meet you in the bar in 3…2…1…
However, this weekend I’m at WANACon Feb 2014 Writer’s Conference. This conference is interactive and online, which means I can show up in my jammies if I want, and see if I can get my Fitbit Zip to smoke by stepping during the sessions. I intend to do both. Multitasking at its finest. One of the things I truly love about this conference is that all the sessions are recorded, which means if I’m in one session, I’m not going to miss another. I can pick it up later after the conference. Bonus.
See you back here bright and early on Monday. Because — you know — the early bird gets the coffee.

Great photo. The texture of those hulls is superb. I’m not familiar with the film–but I had a martini i hand by about 7:00 p.m. this evening . . .

It was a holiday film. And I’m a sucker for a holiday film. A dirty martini with a blue cheese stuffed olive is my favorite.
