I call it…
The Assist.
Yesterday, we took a little field trip, had a little roadmance. We visited the Evergreen Brick Works in Toronto. I had never been before.
Evergreen Brick Works is an environmental community centre that inspires and equips visitors to live, work and play more sustainably.
That is how they describe themselves on their visitor’s guide map.
The Don Valley Brick Works, before it closed in 1984, manufactured millions of bricks a year for use in Canada’s construction industry. It was a captain of brick industry.
I went to photograph the kilns with G-Man, but there is so much more there.
We visited the Evergreen Garden Market, part of the Weston Family Quarry Garden and Don Valley Brick Works Park, the Koerner Gardens, and Café Belong.
Weekends are when it’s happening. Lots of activities going on. There’s a Wild Blueberry Festival this Sunday I’ve got my eye on.
If you’re near the Greater Toronto Area — GTA — don’t miss this hidden gem.
I’ll be posting more shots later.
You’ll just have to make do with that close shot for now.
TGIF, baby. You know what to do.
Meet you in the bar in 3…2…1…
