Fridaaaaay!… Look This Way 41

TGIF!

How can you feel all wilty on a short week? A week after a long weekend?

I might be a crammer.

I might cram everything in a Mon-Fri week into a Tues-Fri week.

Are you a crammer, too?

Really, I’m just over here trying to avoid putting up a click of a pumpkin or a fall leaf.

I’m not trying to rush into fall or anything. But last year I waited until it was actually fall to buy my chrysanthemums and ornamental cabbages and kale… and there weren’t any left. Not one to be had. Anywhere.

It was tragic.

True Confessions ~

The G-Man and I had this conversation on September 9, 2011. I know because I blogged about it.

Me: I think I’ll hang my autumn leaves on the door.

G-Man: It’s too early.

Me: You’re hauling and stacking wood.

G-Man: It’s too early.

Me: You’re prepping the snowblower.

G-Man: It’s too early.

Let it be known throughout the land that I will be hanging the autumn leaves on the door this day.

I’m pretty sure it was much cooler that year than it is this year, because we’re still running a/c and picking tomatoes. Pulling weeds and mowing the lawn. The grass is emerald green. Nobody is emptying their pool for the season. Neighbors are deep into outdoor projects.

There is the stray autumnal leaf.

It feels undecidedly undecided.

Here be Friday.

Time to scram. Vamoose. Hightail it out of here.

You know what to do. Meet you in the bar in 3…2…1…

I’ll be the one wearing flip-flops and gardening gloves.

And let it be known throughout the land that I will not be hanging the autumn leaves on the door this day.

Signed,

Emphatically Emphatic
