I love movie soundtracks. All kinds of movie soundtracks.
I love the combination of original music and songs from different decades that comprise a movie soundtrack.
I love that which is the movie soundtrack.
It floats my boat.
So…
I was home alone last night and decided to pull up It’s Complicated on Netflix. I tried to watch the new The X-Files series, but it was an eye-popping horror. Literally. I squeaked through the original series (1993-2002) because — Hello! — CGB Spender, aka Smoking Man, Cancer Man, Cigarette-Smoking Man… and I was much younger then.
So…
It’s Complicated – 1) Because Meryl Streep. 2) Because Baldwin Blue Eyes. ‘Nuff said. 3) Because watching Steve Martin play a subdued character. 4) Because Nancy Meyer.
And the expression on Jane Adler’s (Meryl Streep) face when she looks in the mirror flying high and happy on dandelions, I mean Weed.
Is that what I look like?
And Jane Adler’s trip to the plastic surgeon over her droopy eyelid. Dodged a bullet there, Jane.
So…
Let’s just fly high and happy on some It’s Complicated movie soundtrack.
Leo Sayer’s You Make Me Feel Like Dancing — but It’s Complicated. (1976)
Fine Young Cannibals’ Good Thing — but It’s Complicated. (1988)
The Beach Boys’ Wouldn’t It Be Nice — but It’s Complicated. (1966)
Leo and I might have the same dance moves.
Mebbe.
Tuesday, y’all.
