Humpity Day: I can’t decide…

National Chocolate Milkshake Day.

That’s something I can get behind.

In front of.

And dig into.

Not a smoothie.

A classic milkshake…. of yore.

The kind you would find in a diner, at a drugstore soda fountain, or in say… Better Homes and Gardens New Cook Book (1969). Three ingredients: cold milk, chocolate syrup, vanilla ice cream. And if you wanted malted milk… a couple of tablespoons of malted milk powder.

Look at that. All you need in 2018 is a glass or metal straw, and you can tuck right in. Maybe a tall spoon.

Milkshakes have been around since the 1880’s, but that had something to do with liquor and eggs. These milky, creamy, cold confections we love so much started showing up in the 1900’s and have evolved to the froufrou gourmet drinks we have today. And when I say froufrou, I’m not using that in a derogatory way.

There are not a few fun histories of the milkshake to be found on the intertoobs. Just Google history of the milkshake.  Boom!

And my work here is done.

Oh.

I’ll Take Your Answers ~

Are you a milkshake lover?

If so, what’s your favorite flave?

I’m all about the chocolate. Scratch that. Strawberry. No, chocolate!

Sigh.

Here be Hump Day.

Let’s just all run out for milkshakes.

Now. Now. NOW!
