On our recent roadmance of Coastal Maine, somewhere on Route 103 between Kittery and Portsmouth, we pulled off the road into the entrance of Fort McClary State Park.
That’s what the signage said.
Further into the park, Fort McClary squats at the mouth of the Piscataqua River.
This was the first thing we saw.
I wanted to see it up close and personal.
Stop the car, Mr. G, honey!
He’s used to that.
It was just inside the entrance. You could see it from Route 103.
Mama Nature knows how to pull an outfit together.
She’s all about color and texture.
And light.
I couldn’t look away.
Mama Nature could give Project Runway a run for its money.
Just sayin’.
And a good Thursday to you all.

Beautiful photos! I especially like the last few photos, with the distant light beyond the cattails and the lovely dappled light on the water. And, as always, your prose is superb.

Thank you so much for your comments. It means a lot. My fave is the third from the bottom. Yes, the distant light!
