This shot was taken at Edwards Gardens on Mother’s Day weekend. Last Thursday, we took the Philly friends to see the gardens, and these beauties were gone. Over. Done. Kaput.

They reminded me of heads bowed in prayer.

When I said I would be back on Monday, I forgot that today is Victoria Day. We are honoring Queen Victoria’s birthday here in Canadaland, which is always celebrated on the first Monday preceding May 25th. It is our long weekend, aka planting weekend, aka open the cottage weekend.

And I smell barbecue.

And beer.

And there will be fireworks.
