Remember last week when I posted the pulse post on Skillet Cornbread with Chickpeas?
You don’t?
Seriously?
Moving right along.
I ended up with a cup of leftover chickpeas in the fridge.
So.
I pulled them out on Monday morning and…
Doesn’t that just scream food photographer?!
1/2 cup of Greek yogurt + 1/2 cup of skim milk + 1/2 banana + 1/3 cup blueberries (Okay. I didn’t really measure those. Put in as many of those scrumptious suckers as you want.) + 1/3 cup of chickpeas + 1 immersion blender = Breakfast Smoothie.
Bam!
Keeping It Seriously Simple — K.I.S.S.
Chickpeas are like tofu. You can’t even taste them in that smoothie.
I swears!
Some of those chickpeas I threw on a salad.
Oh.
True Confessions ~
I ate some leftover pasta with marinara sauce for breakfast on Wednesday and threw the last of chickpeas in that. Protein hit!
Two more weeks to go.

I was watching Nine Months last night and remembered my love for Mr. Tyrone Davis. Turn Back the Hands of Time is part of the soundtrack for that movie. And I surely do love it dearly. But I think this is my favorite. Thank you, Mr. Davis.

Chick peas. Love em! Just had some in a Moroccan styled squash and apricot stew for my dinner. But in a smoothie? Not so sure about that one – But I guess you know if you don’t try.

Honestly, Janet, you don’t taste them. You taste the tart of yogurt, the blueberries, the banana. I’d be the first to go ‘gack!’ if I could taste the chickpeas in my breakfast smoothie. Your Moroccan style stew sounds delish. Mm.

The stew wasn’t bad. 😉
I’ll give the chickpeas-in-smoothie a try……promise.
