Autumn Blur!
The long weekend.
Sometimes it feels weird. No one’s going back to school in my casa. But the school bells keep me in the know. Love that. The rhythm and purpose of it.
I intend not to labour on this fine long weekend, though I appreciate labour in all its forms and all labourers and their efforts to improve workers’ rights.
And since I’m celebrating in Canada, I’ll just put the ‘u’ in labour.
Not that it’s the last long weekend. If you live in Canada, Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Before Halloween. Before it cools down enough to have turkey and stuffing and gravy and sweet potato casserole and pie. It’s taken me a long time to adjust to that. I’m not sure I’m there yet.
I’ll be About Town this weekend — seeing a play in the 6ix, enjoying the Toronto International BuskerFest for Epilepsy, and taking in the Artfest Toronto at the Distillery.
Why is everything happening in one weekend?
You? What will you be up to this fine Labour/Labor Day weekend?
If you’re barbecuing, nix the wire brush. Use half a raw onion on a warm grill or a ball of foil.
Here be Friday.
Meet you in the bar in 3…2…1…
Yes, the header image is new. A nice little slice of autumn watercolour just for you. Enjoy!
Happy long weekend, y’all.
Today’s taboo word is sitting at 2 in the chart above. I’m not even going to whisper it.

Hey, Elen. Love the autumn bar. Very fallesque. I’ll be doin’ about anything except labor over the weekend here in Texas. I hope you enjoy your busy weekend!

Unless making spaghetti sauce counts as labo(u)r I won’t be doing any at all. Love the fall colors blurrrrr. It just zips on by. The link works perfectly! Thanks for joining and great start to the challenge!

Spaghetti sauce is a labor of love, so I’m giving you a pass. 😉 Just let me know when it’s ready. Thank you. I’m kind of partial to that click too. Have a great long weekend, Eric.

LaboUr day this weekend? I thought it happens only on the 1st of May! I guess Canada is always a different animal altogether. Well done with the challenge, Elen!

We are a different animal. 😉 What’s your country, Ann? Thank you and welcome. Hope you enjoy your time here. Cheers.

We live in the Netherlands now (after 11 years in Thailand), but I’ve gone under the education system that is rooted from Singapore’s British colonial past…and Singapore being my birthplace and where I grew up, so I’m more inclined with the British spelling. The likes of organisation vs organiZation. LOL. (the “z” annoys me somehow!)
I’ll certainly pop by your blog more often, Elen! 😀

I think you may be my first commenter from the Netherlands. Woot!

II think but was W Churchill who said, ‘I could never get used to Tgiving in Oct. Never! Never! Never!’ Now, there was a smart man as opposed to me, a smart pants… (Or reasonable facsimile, thereof). Have a great weekend. Me, whatever chores she has lined up for me to do…

Lovin’ the new header… woot! Love the new fall colours that are about to come, but already missing summer, before it even slips away. Happy Labour day weekend! xx

Thanks, Lynne! It makes me want to do a little autumn boogie. I could miss summer if it hadn’t been so fuh-reakin’ hot this summer. Signed, Pool-less in Burbville. No, not clueless…. pool-less. Okay. Maybe clueless. Hope you are having a great Labour Day weekend! xo
