Get Back Here!
We’re having the best summer ever this October. Temps in the high sixties to low seventies. Leaves are turning. Grass needs mowing. Chrysanthemums sit cheek by jowl with coreopsis moonbeam and pink fairy roses. It’s an October for all seasons.
This be a blog quickie because, yes, I do do windows. And that is where I have been all week — outside. Washing windows. Brooming patios. Finessing soil. Willing the wasps to Deep Space Nine.
This weekend, I hope to get a pumpkin or ten. No. I haven’t done that yet.
You?
Here be Friday.
You know what to do. Meet you in the bar in 3…2…1…
Elen
I’ve got 3 pumpkins ready for carving, and am looking forward to raking leaves this weekend. Our weather hasn’t been as warm as yours, but we’ve had more sunshine than usual for October. No complaints here. Happy Weekend.

And did you get those pumpkins carved, Ally? Leaves are just beginning to fall.

This weather, Elen is THE greatest. I went to get groceries today, and I even knew what the date is. You know how I know? Cause I said to myself (in the parking lot), “Wow, I’m wearing sandals on October 20th!”
Have fun this weekend with Mr. G and the pumpkins.

It is. It truly is, Kellie! Hahahahahaha. I know. I’m still in and out of the flip-flops.

Ahhh yes… autumn leaves. I’m ankle deep in them right now. Also chicken poo and mud… ugh! This is a busy time of year for sure! I’ve been sorting my barn for moving the chickens from outside coops into the safety of proper walls. Also bunnies have been moved in for the winter… so much to do and I’m exhausted! But also satisfied. In a weird, muddy, leaf-mouldy, fur-ball kind of way. 🙂

LOL. Well, at least now I know where you’ve been, Mother Hen! It is and always will be my favourite season.

Fantastic photo, Elen!! I’m so in love with this weather, it’s ridiculous! (But just a teeny tiny bit scared of how we are going to have to pay for it this winter) I should be working, too. But I’m sitting on the porch swing watching the leaves turn colour. Bliss! Cheers to you!

Thank you so much, Janet! Okay. I think I’ll blink myself over to your porch swing for the afternoon. Chores are done for the day. 😀

What’s your window washing formula? Where are the colors? Did you fish the lake? Yes, Oct has been summeresque. Enjoy the week.

Right now, it’s Windex, Steve. I’ve used vinegar and water and newsprint. I’ve used…. oh, everything. But Windex is to hand. I’m in a hurry. We’re just getting some good autumn colour on now. Finally. Nope. I haven’t fished since I was a girl. I’m a bait/hook squealer… squeaker…whatevs.
