Huh, Thursday. Who knew?…

This is going to be like stream of consciousness jazz, totes unstructured. Just as it comes to me. Not my favorite jazz, so probably not your favorite post. Heh.

Three inches of snow fell upon mighty Burbville last night. ‘Bout time. It looks fresh and inviting, even through my cold-weeping eyes. That being said, all that is going through my mind this morning as I look at this blank post is Here we sit like birds in the wilderness…

Huh.

I hope you all had lovely holidays with family and friends.

Are you ready for the new year? I don’t mind saying I’m happy to be giving 2018 the boot and clomping into 2019. It’s weenter. These boots were made for clomping.

Did I say that? Oh, dear.

November and December were lean and mean on posting. I rolled right off the paint cloth mid-December into tree-trimming and holiday decorating, bread-baking and recipe-making. It was the most wonderful time of the year.

City Kitty and her mistress enjoyed a staycay in the familial home. City Kitty doesn’t like to arrive. And then she doesn’t like to leave. She’s ornery that way. So she does chores under the bed or in my office, as long as I’m not in it.

Besides having The Holiday and some Christmas movie called The Holiday Calendar on repeat while rolling walls, I watched 20 Christmas movies.

They were not all good.

New Year’s Eve was a trip to the St. Lawrence Market in TO on the GO in the gawd-awful hours of the morning, followed by a Harry Potter fest with a side of tagliatelle and bolognese sauce to ring in the new year. Dress code — jammies.

And here we are at the beginning of a shiny new year shredding and filing and doing payables and calendars and hopping on the blog to see who is here. Not thinking about resolutions and intentions in the knowledge that my paintbrush is full for the next few months. Literally. In another week or two, I will be chained to the paint. Again.

In the meantime, I’ll be catching up on blogs I’ve missed reading, taking a couple of workshops, catching up with friends, walking, walking, walking, and a bit of pre-painting cooking.

Now it’s time for you to dish. Tell me anything — about your holidays, 2019 goals or resolutions, movies you’ve seen or books you’ve read, a favorite family recipe, your go-to playlist — anything. Anything at all.

This post has been brought to you by the word And.

I’m having trouble figuring out what day it is.

Huh, Thursday. Who knew?
