Humpity Day: Making a list, checking it…

And here it is. The first Humpity Day of the first month of the new year.

What to say? What to say?

I think there is more “making a list, and checking it twice” in the month of January, than there ever is in the month of December, even if you’re not Saint Nick.

People are resolving to resolve all over the place.

The UN has declared 2016 to be the International Year of Pulses — lentils, peas, chickpeas, beans.

And who is the largest exporter of lentils and peas?

According to Pulse Canada, that would be…

I took the Pulse Pledge challenge.

What is this challenge, you ask?

Committing to eating pulses once a week for 10 weeks in 2016.

And since I made Dutch Spit Pea Soup with Ham on Monday. I’ve got the first week covered.

Why did I not take pictures of that process on Monday?

Why? Why?

All caught up in the chop.

Chop, chop, chop, chop.

Chop, chop!

Here be Hump Day.

Let’s just chop pulse pledge right through it.

I gave you a handy, dandy link. Just fill in your email and country, and you can pulse pledge right along with me.

Here’s a great little video from Breakfast Television and Chef Michael Smith to get you started.

Ten weeks!

You know you want to.

These Pulse Tacos from Chef Michael Smith will be on the menu next week. I’ll let you know, Chef!
