This is blooming right now. Also know as False Sunflower. Underneath and around it is creeping thyme. It’s a creeper.

So…
Welcome to the Canadian tropics, where it doesn’t rain every day, but the humidex hovers in the 90’s and the grass is green and the gardens are lush and the basil is 36 inches tall and thriving.
Where the mint isn’t far behind and the indeterminate tomatoes fell over again from sheer number and weight and the lavender rebloomed and the chipmunks and squirrels are sunbathing on the fence giving no thought to gathering food for the coming winter and the skunks feel free to roam through the gardens and let the good stink roll and…
And my hair looks like a beautiful, wild dandelion that has gone to seed.
In other words, the Great Green North.
And Monday is in the house.
We’re in the work zone.

It’s the same in Maine. Mid September and it’s in the 80’s with hair frizzing humidity…. crazy. I’m not in any hurry for winter but what happened to a nice crisp fall?
