A Scrum of Branches!

These branches look like they might crawl into Lake Ontario at any moment.

Or…

They’re getting ready to skirmish.

Or…

Scrum.

Whatever your imagination station decides, this is one of my favorite little stretches of beach along Lake Ontario. There’s a lot of rock and driftwood and rough sand. Just the way I like it.

It also makes me think of my week last week, which also felt like a scrum or skirmish.

True Confessions ~

We had neighbors over for drinks and nibblies for the first time on Friday night. They moved into the neighborhood 15 years ago.

Too soon?

We laughed all night, so I’m thinking it wasn’t soon enough.

The G-Man had a birthday this weekend, so we fixed his favorite meal…

Ribs!

If we’re celebrating at home, he always gets a rib dinner by request. Ribs + colesaw + spicy fries + pie was the order of the birthday day this year. #manfood was on the menu, boys! It was agreed by all that the ribs were better than our local annual Ribfest ribs. Sorry, Ribfest! #notsorry

We now return to our regularly scheduled menu of fish and veggies and pulses.

Burp!

We watched SPECTRE on the weekend. I loved the Bond Song — The Writings on the Wall — and the location shots, and the yellow wash that most of the film seemed to be filmed in. And I liked the final scene. But for me, it felt like whatever plot there was was overrun by the epic action scenes. It was not my favorite Bond film, though I am partial to the Daniel Craig Bond. Ben Whishaw’s Q was my favorite character in this film.

Sunday was pure food coma.
