Pole Dancing!
It’s the closest thing we’re going to get to pole dancing around here. Trust me on this.
Some of those tomatoes have been plucked.
Puh-lucked!
We had a big rain yesterday. Big compared to having an extended dry spell and heat wave. Using the dog-water-dish-rain-gauge method of measuring, it looked like 2 to 2 1/2 inches. We don’t get too technical about these things. Any right-side-up pot without a hole in it will do.
Roma. She loves the pole!
I don’t have to water today.
This roma is in the ground. If you look deep, you can just see the bright red of two very large roma tomatoes. Plucked. Same day. Different lighting.
After the rain!
Red leaf lettuce. We can’t eat it fast enough.
End of story.
How does your garden grow? Tell me.
Is August not whipping by?
It is.
Here be Hump Day… after the rain.
Splish-splash.

The National Weather Service has been teasing us, predicting rain almost every day and not delivering. Really, it’ll get overcast and we’ll hear a few rumbles of thunder, but no rain.

It was the same for us, John. A lot of drought in Ontario this summer. Hope you get some rain soon.

We had 2 days of that wet stuff. We needed it though. We were as dry as burnt toast. Your veggies look great! We have broccoli, peppers, lettuce and thyme and onions growing. They’re all doing great! They’re not ready yet, though.

Good on the rain! I switch it up every year, Eric. I always grow herbs and greens and tomatoes and then I just play. 😀 Gardening is just too much fun. Cheers!

I keep trying to grow things that I can’t. Carrots. I can’t seem grow a carrot.

I hear that, Eric. It’s part of the gardener’s code. I do that all the time. Not sunny enough? The best carrots I ever grew were in a somewhat sandy soil, but I’ve grown them in containers with good success.

Broccoli doesn’t like heat, yet I continue to plant them too late and they get too hot. My peppers and lettuce and thyme seem to thrive though! And there’s 1 carrot plant doing really good. I talk to it nicely.

Maybe you’re growing a super carrot. 😉 I’d keep an eye on that.

Totally keeping an eye on it. With my luck though it just has a whole lotta green and the carrot is an inch long.
